About Esther Wood, Registered Physiotherapist in Uxbridge, ON
BSc HK (Hons), MSc PT, MCPA
Esther enjoys interacting with people, learning, and problem solving; that’s why she chose physiotherapy as a profession. Recreationally, she enjoys many activities, and in the past, has competed in rock climbing, crossfit, and ultimate frisbee. Currently, Esther spends much of her free time with her two children, but now and then she gets the chance to enjoy horseback riding or play her violin. She knows for herself how daily activities are easier when she regularly exercises (yes, she does physiotherapy exercises too). Esther looks forward to being a part of your quest for a stronger, healthier, and more mobile body through her manual physiotherapy treatments here in beautiful Uxbridge!

Education and Experience
Esther graduated from the University of Guelph with her BSc (Honours) in Human kinetics. She then attended McMaster University and obtained her MSc in physiotherapy. Esther enjoys learning and seeks to continually develop professionally. Since graduating, she has taken courses in manual therapy (hands on study), acupuncture and dry needling/IMS, therapeutic taping, hand injuries, and several others. Esther continues to take post graduate courses to improve the effectiveness of her treatment.
After graduating, Esther worked for several years at a multidisciplinary sports injury clinic in Guelph, where she gained much experience with sports injuries and post- surgical cases. At this clinic she had the privilege of working with an orthopedic surgeon, hand surgeon, and shoulder surgeon as well as other healthcare professionals in the office. Esther’s special focus in Guelph was clients with achilles tendon ruptures, and she did a self-directed outcomes study to evaluate the effectiveness of her treatment and clients’ function following treatment. In 2014, Esther moved to Uxbridge. She furthered her clinical experience by working at Uxbridge Physiotherapy before deciding to venture off on her own.
